Today marks a special day for us that we are pleased to remember and share with all of you.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of our Company, we would like to express our gratitude to those who contributed throughout all these years to the growth of our company by working with us and for us: employees, collaborators, customers, suppliers, and partners.
It has been 50 years of targeted objectives, choices and changes at times daring, 50 years of constant commitment, sacrifice and fulfilment. We have learned not to be afraid of transformations, actively managing change and responding positively to changes in market conditions.
Thanks to everyone’s help, we were able to convert an idea into a business.
A path that is rooted in time and which is marked by various significant milestones.
It was back in 1971, when Mr Sergio Ferrari founded the business that is now our Company, started with investing a small sum of money to purchase a welding machine, a drill, a truck and a grinding wheel and setting up his activity as a welder in a small rented shed in the province of Parma.
In 1986, the first headquarters of approximately 400 square metres was built in Sorbolo (Parma). It is here that Sergio, with his craftsmanship skill and prowess, began the metalworking carpentry activity and the design and construction of the first motorcycle and car lifts on behalf of third parties.
In 2000, thanks to the introduction of new technologies and latest generation machinery, the tenacity and foresight of his son Fabrizio, a new factory was built next to the first site, occupying over 2000 square metres of space.
In 2002, the LV8® trademark was registered, which Ferrari Sergio Metalmeccanica began using to market the first motorcycle stands and lifts, entirely designed, built and tested at the Company.
In 2004, Sergio fell ill and unfortunately lost his battle against cancer 4 years later at the age of 60, leaving his children and collaborators an everlasting legacy of values, traditions and expertise.
Patrizia, Sergio’s youngest daughter, joined the company alongside her brother Fabrizio and her mother Rita, working with the LV8® brand right from the start.
The idea of converting the Company’s creations into an actual business begins to take shape. The LV8® range is soon extended with car lifts and modular technical furniture for workshops.
In 2010, the production activity was transferred to a new and modern 6000 m2 indoor plant in Brescello (Reggio Emilia), covering a total area of 23,000 m2. The historic site in Sorbolo (Parma) instead houses the sales and design offices, the warehouse and the showroom of the LV8® brand with over 400 square metres of exhibition space.
The Company, which has always lived with a two-sided soul, artisan and industrial, productive and commercial, distributive and sartorial, is now able to work alongside the most significant brands in the automotive sector both as a provider of Private Label solutions and through the LV8® brand, as an official partner specialised in setting up workshops with high quality and aesthetic standards in line with the various Corporate Identities and the expectations of the respective Dealer Networks. In the last 10 years, thanks to the development of new products and a fast internationalisation process, the company has designed and distributed “tailor-made” solutions for car companies, motorcycle companies, racing teams, oil companies, tyre companies and hi-tech companies.
The last year, marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, was extremely demanding and immensely challenging for all of us. However, the hardest and most difficult times always provide the most promising lessons and open the way to new paths.
All of our team’s energy was focused on getting the most out of the least and we did it!
We celebrate half a century of history while still young, full of ideas and projects.
We promise to continue to amaze you !
